The overarching objective of this research is to develop efficient, accelerated, and sustainable techniques for repairing H-piles to restore their initial axial capacities. The corrosion will be simulated by milling the flanges and/or webs of the H-piles. For a severely corroded pile, the reduced section dimensions will be accompanied by a void in the web and/or cuts in the flanges. The piles will be repaired using pultruded fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) sections, ultra-high strength concrete (UHPC) sections, and FRP wrapping. |
