Expanding PARIS+ to regional police agencies
项目名称: Expanding PARIS+ to regional police agencies
摘要: The State of Oklahomas traffic record improvement strategy is formulated by the Oklahoma Traffic Records Council. The current strategy is to provide financial support for PARIS deployment only to large police agencies that handle the majority of traffic collisions. Smaller police agencies are able to use PARIS, but must contract with the University of Oklahoma (OU) for PARIS customization and support that is needed to deploy PARIS to a new police agency. This project will expand the availability of the Police Automated Records Information System+ (PARIS) across the state and to begin marketing the system to police agencies in neighboring states. Working closely with new agencies, we will test PARIS+ and make it available to smaller police agencies that may not have the same level of in-vehicle computer technology as large police agencies. During the course of the project, the OU Center for Intelligent Transportation (CITS) will deploy PARIS+ to at least six new police agencies, with the long-term eventual goal of deployment to over 100 police agencies in the region. This project will enable OU CITS to continue to generate significant levels of funding for continued research and development in traffic records areas. PARIS is the only system that can electronically transmit Collision forms to the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety. It also electronically transmits Citations to appropriate court systems. It is really these capabilities to interface with numerous state and local systems electronically make PARIS distinct and more advantageous than commercial citation systems.
