摘要：	The increase in traffic and transported freight over the past decade has significantly increased the loading on bridge structures. Ohio is the fifth-ranked state in the highest number of deficient bridges, and the cost to replace all structurally-deficient bridges and rehabilitate the most urgent two-thirds is approximately $3.6 billion dollars. Such a prohibitive cost requires Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to use accurate analysis methods to correctly identify the overloaded bridges. The goal of this student study is to develop a practical but accurate analysis methodology that ODOT can employ when load rating pier caps which were found to be overloaded using the slender beam theory.
