Collecting load tickets is an antiquated practice that exposes inspectors to potential injury by locating them adjacent to traffic or moving or backing equipment. But new technologies enable the collection of this information electronically, allowing for safer, more efficient inspection. This project will complement the Transportation Cabinet's ongoing e‐Construction initiatives by tying multiple technologies together for safer and efficient inspection and linking electronic records of contractors and suppliers. This research centers on electronic supplier ticketing and global positioning system/geographic information systems (GPS/GIS) tracking of materials. Analysis will examine the collaboration of e‐Ticketing information with technologies (e.g., remote sensing), to evaluate paving inspection facilitated by remote access to live project records (e.g., temperatures, paving patterns, theoretical tonnages). |
