| 摘要： | Traditional policies oriented toward using transportation infrastructure to promote economic development have focused on infrastructure as a magnet for the location of firms, often with little regard for the characteristics of specific industries and their spatial dynamics. This task has set about to devise, assess, and map key industry clusters in Minnesota and greater Midwest and their implications for transportation infrastructure. While early tasks activities focused on freight rail, the scope has been broadened to include all forms of freight and the related supply chains for key industry clusters in Minnesota. Work in the coming year will include hosting an expert conference to highlight and further discuss the transportation impacts of Minnesota supply chains and supporting a number of focus groups and interviews around the state to receive further input on this topic. |
