| 摘要： | The objective of the project is to determine the effectiveness of land use interventions on mitigating blowing dust and the frequency of dust-related traffic crashes at a dust storm crash hotspot at the Lordsburg Playa (MM5-13) on Interstate 10 in southwest New Mexico. The primary goal for future implementation is to determine land use interventions that will be effective in future instances of localized blowing dust in order to prevent crashes due to loss visibility loss caused by blowing dust. Ambient data, including airborne dust levels, soil moisture, and meteorological measurements, will be collected at two sites (Road Forks and North Playa) with intervention and control sites in each location. |
