Implementation of SHRP2 Results within the Wyoming Connected Vehicle Variable Speed Limit System
项目名称: Implementation of SHRP2 Results within the Wyoming Connected Vehicle Variable Speed Limit System
摘要: The Strategic Highway Research Program 2 (SHRP2) Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS) and Roadway Information Database (RID) provide an unprecedented opportunity for researchers to better understand driving behavior. Having identified the potential benefits and value of this unprecedented dataset, Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) partnered with the University of Wyoming to evaluate methods by which the data could be used to identify driver behavior and performance characteristics during adverse weather conditions. As part of the SHRP2 Implementation Assistance Program (IAP), the Wyoming research team has completed the first phase of research, and is reporting preliminary results for the second study phase in this report. The objective of the second phase is to model drivers responses to various adverse weather and road conditions (e.g., speed adaptation, land maintenance, and car following), specifically addressing defined research questions.
