摘要: This research will use both experimental field monitoring data and adaptive computational modeling - using a data assimilation, inversion/back-calculation approach - to continuously update estimates of in-situ conditions (both in the ground and structure) and therefore enable continuous updating of risk, i.e., dynamic risk assessment and mitigation. The project will utilize data from Seattle Northlink transit tunnel cross passages as well as LA metro tunnel cross passages and caverns. The research team works closely with the project owners, engineers and contractors of these projects.
