| 摘要： | Roadway lighting improves driver safety during nighttime driving conditions and promotes increased visibility for driver navigation. State departments of transportation (DOTs) recognize the safety benefits of roadway lighting and as such devote significant financial resources to the installation, operation, and maintenance of roadway lighting. Lighting maintenance costs, including electrical power consumption, often cost millions each year. KYTC is seeking cost‐effective ways to reduce operational costs for roadway lighting while preserving appropriate levels of safety. This project will assess roadway lighting practices, with specific attention paid to the evaluation of opportunities to reduce lighting operational costs through use of LED technology. |
