RiPofF: Re-use of pile foundations
项目名称: RiPofF: Re-use of pile foundations
摘要: The research aim is to utilise the free soil strength and stiffness that develop over time on the pile-soil interface in the design of axially loaded floating pile foundations in soft clays. The project will study pile installation, pile set-up and the subsequent long-term effects relevant to deep foundations in Sweden, i.e. floating piles in soft clays. The study considers interpretation of physical model tests, novel element level testing and analytical/numerical modelling. The project aims to capture the mechanisms involved by first understanding the soil behaviour, as analysed from a unique data set, and how this behaviour can be modelled in element tests and a simplified theoretical/numerical analysis. The main approach is to use the newly developed creep model and experimental data from element level testing of Swedish clay to enhance the value of the experimental data on pile installation and subsequent consolidation. A simplified ultimate limit state design approach will be derived from a representative set of simulations using the numerical representation of the process. The validity of the current Swedish practice and the new approach developed in this project will be benchmarked against long-term instrumented field tests (TRV & FORMAS). The expected outcome is a pile design method that captures the main mechanisms affecting the pile interface strength and stiffness in time for new pile foundations.
