摘要：	According to recent studies, over 75%of the US-Mexico overland trade flows through Texas. International traffic is channelized through 18 border sectors, many of which experience congestion caused primarily by lack of effective interaction among inspection procedures and traffic management. This situation requires a case-study approach, which is conducive to efficient problem solving in complex situations. This project reports the development of a computer simulation model of the first case study investigated in this study, namely the Zaragoza Bridge in El Paso, Texas. To achieve this objective, real time queuing data, such as interarrival times of vehicles and service times of inspectors, were sampled, collected, and tested. In addition to the actual case, three case studies were studied under current traffic volumes and under a 50 percent increase in volume. / NOTE:Rept. 1 Jan 98-31 Aug 99.
