This is a hands-on project having students look at the correlation between cautiousness, personality traits, driving skills, and actual safety record. Students drove an obstacle course, under the supervision of the Public Safety Office and the number of errors they made was recorded. Students also went through a number of 'personality trait' assessments looking at their subliminal-picture perception, their multi-tasking abilities, how they perceive a spinning spiral, and their ability to quickly and accurately retain 'hidden' knowledge. Students were also assessed as to whether they are cautious or not through self-reported data. Self-reported crash data was also collected. An analysis of the limited data availabile here, seem to indicate, as hypothesized, that people who are 'in the middle' with respect to performance on the subliminal experiments also have the lowest crash rates. / NOTE: Final rept.
