This report documents the initial Lincoln Laboratory evaluation of 1090 MHz Mode S Extended Squitter messages recorded in the vicinity of Lexington, Massachusetts, using a Sensis receiver. This analysis focused on six specific Extended Squitter messages with Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) information such as aircraft position, velocity, identification, emergency status, and operational status. The purpose of this analysis was to evaluate the availability and usefulness of ADS-B information for future airborne collision avoidance applications. / Supplementary Notes: Sponsored by Federal Aviation Administration, Washington, DC.
