| 摘要： | This paper addresses a plan for research and development leading to alternative structural system concepts for tankers. These should decrease labor requirements in design, fabrication and outfitting phases. The plan begins with addressing those aspects of concurrent engineering which, when applied, will result in the optimum characteristics with least cost from both the builders' and owners' perspectives. The next steps address identifying characteristics of structural systems which offer promise, and the assembly of these into alternative structural system concepts based on their apparent potential for improved producibility. Then, the application of the systems to specific vessels and methods to evaluate the improved producibility are considered. |
