| 摘要： | It is incredible how fast a year goes by. As this chair term comes to a close, I have a few thoughts to share:Going in the right direction at a steady pace is what we always need to do. There are many worthy goals we are striving for, and achieving them takes time. I would encourage all those interested in accomplishing important goals to join and participate in those committees. Plus, it is a lot of fun to be an active part of the team.The goals for this year were focused on education and sustainability. The professors' teaching materials for a full semester undergraduate engineering class are almost complete. The first four chapters will be through the PCI Technical Activities Council by year-end, with the remaining chapters immediately following that.PCI and the PCI Foundation have increased their focus on the synergies of the two organizations. It is great seeing the executive committees strategize together.Sustainability has become a major focal point with an all-hands-on deck effort. This year a goal was to engage all councils within the institute in the pursuit of sustainable practices, initiatives, and principles. This plan is now established and active. We have contracted with WAP to do updated environmental product declarations with our producer members. This information is needed so that software such as EC3 has the proper data to compute the environmental impact of our products. It is only through significant effort that we will be able to get accurate information to the market and obtain strategic product improvements. |
