WITH 2023 UNDERWAY, It's TIME TO TAKE A FRESH LOOK at where things stand as they relate to key trends germane to supply chain, logistics and freight transportation. There's little doubt that things have changed on various fronts, especially when viewed against the backdrop of nearly three years since the onset of the pandemic. It's fair to say that everyone remembers that period of time all too well. But now it feels that we're back into a more normal rhythm, a fact that's certainly welcomed and appreciated. However, just because we're there doesn't mean that our logistics challenges have completely melted way There are a few lingering hurdles that affect the system in different ways, depending on what type of industry stakeholder you are. A quick example may be how declining U.S.-bound imports continue to affect domestic freight movements. For one thing, it clearly translates into lower volumes, and, more than likely, lower rates-a situation that could very well define market conditions over the first half of 2023. |
