For decades, supply chains operated largely "under the radar" as they delivered goods around the world. The global pandemic put a bright spotlight on these vital networks, and many organizations are still shaking off its impacts. The automotive sector, for example, continues to experience supply chain disruptions and shortages that create production delays. Other potential threats include cyber attacks, geopolitical events, supplier insolvency, ESG violations, economic downturns and climate risk, just to name just a few. Companies are paying attention to these risks. In fact, by 2025 Gartner predicts that supply chain risk management will be a key success driver for more than 50% of organizations. These companies are already developing dedicated departments-and equipping them with hefty budgets and resources-to spearhead those supply chain risk mitigation efforts. |
