| 摘要： | ITE recently learned of the passing of the following members. We thank them for their contributions to ITE and the profession, and send condolences to their families.Leon "Lee" Goodman (F), ITE International President in 1993 and longtime contributor to the organization, has passed away. Lee joined ITE in 1956 with the encouragement of Lou Bender, who served as a mentor to his staff at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Lee received a Certificate in Traffic Engineering from the Highway Traffic Bureau at Yale University in 1958. His commitment to and active participation in ITE was further cemented through his exposure to the bureau's faculty, guest lecturers, and classmates. Lee's contributions to Technical Committees and in leadership positions at all levels of ITE spanned his lengthy and distinguished career.As a young professional in 1962, Lee had the opportunity to present his first paper at an ITE Annual Meeting. Since then, Lee has presented numerous papers at Section, District, and International meetings. He helped fashion technical programs for section, district and international meetings. He authored chapters in several editions of the ITE Transportation Planning Handbook. Lee also served on ITE's Coordinating Council as chair of the Transit Council. In 2000, Lee achieved certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer™. Lee also served as an adjunct professor at several New York and New Jersey educational institutions. |
