The most efficient way for EV drivers to charge is to do so at home. But for the approximately 80 million Americans who live in multifamily housing facilities, including apartment complexes and condominiums, access to charging is either inconvenient or not available.1 Approximately 20 percent of Americans, and an even higher percentage of low- and moderate-income drivers, live in buildings without access to off-street parking and the ability to charge an EV.2 The lack of convenient home charging access is a significant reason many multifamily residents who would otherwise consider converting to an EV are less likely to do so. |
