| 摘要： | I plan to attend The University of Texas at Austin this fall. I am both excited and scared for what the future might bring to me as a first generation civil engineering student, and I plan to make the best of it. I want to join fun extracurriculars and environmentally involved groups around campus. I want to study civil engineering because I believe it's the best way to create a better future for everyone, whether it refers to building, cities, or the environment. I would like to focus more on the environmental side of civil engineering; however, I also want to learn all about civil engineering and how to create a better place for everyone. As of this upcoming fall I will begin my studies as an undergraduate, but this will only be the beginning of my civil engineering career as I plan to get a master's degree in the future. This scholarship is truly giving me the opportunity to go to my dream university, and one that's close to home and my family. I am allowed to have my biggest supporters-my family-by my side, and bring them along the journey of college. I get to have my biggest inspiration, my brother, near me for all my questions and concerns along the journey of civil engineering. Lastly, I get to stay and live in the hometown I've known my whole life. Through this scholarship, I have the privilege of focusing on my studies, rather than having to struggle financially-as I, alone, would not be able to afford college. This scholarship is an opportunity for many more to come in this new chapter of my life. |
