摘要: Metrolinx, an agency of the Government of Ontario in Canada, was created to plan, build, and operate transit across the Greater Toronto Area. The agency is currently undertaking the largest transit expansion in North America including a mix of subway, light rail transit, and regional rail projects. A major component of this massive transit investment is the GO Expansion program, a series of improvements to the region-wide GO Rail network (shown in Figure 1) which will bring in faster, more frequent all-day two-way service along most corridors. This service increase will be accompanied with new GO Rail stations and better integration with rapid transit corridors, forming improved connections between communities and transit. In 2019, the GO Rail network served about 120,000 daily weekday customers across the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH), and through the GO Expansion program, that ridership is expected to double by 2041 despite anticipated long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
