ITE JOURNAL: You've been involved in many projects from coast to coast throughout your 25-year career. What aspects of Traffic Impact Analyses (TIAs) have evolved over the course of your time in the industry? How is this aspect of the profession different now than it was when you started? VILLALUZ: The basic structure of a Traffic Impact Study/Traffic Impact Analysis has stayed intact, but there is more of an emphasis on how the project interacts with pedestrians, transit, and bicyclists. Access management has also emerged as an important aspect of the TIA since safe and convenient access to and from sites has become more of a challenge as adjacent intersections become more congested. |
