This addresses three issues relating to the proposed acquisition of US Airways by United Airlines (United). Specifically, the objectives were to determine (1) how the proposed merger would alter the U.S. domestic airline industry; (2) what potential harmful and beneficial effects the proposed merger could have on consumers, focusing on how the proposed merger would alter competition in specific markets; and (3) how the service that DC Air is planning to offer compares with the service scheduled by other airlines in the same markets. |
