| 摘要： | Remembering Oz Nelson. LM regrets to report the passing of Oz Nelson, former CEO of Atlanta-based global freight transportation and logistics services provider UPS. Nelson served as UPS CEO from 1990 to 1996 and started with the company in 1959 as a sales and service representative. UPS CEO Carol Tome said that Nelson championed innovative technologies, like the company's real-time package tracking systems and the handheld scanning devices its drivers use today. And she added that Nelson also spearheaded UPS's entry into the world of logistics, permanently expanding its expertise beyond package delivery and paving the way for its current "customer first" strategy. Nelson spent the majority of his UPS career focusing on the customer and the market, said UPS, helping the company reach a significant new market and leading the team that established its first operation outside North America in West Germany in 1976. |
