This document summarizes the Phase II planning effort conducted by the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (the Volpe Center) to articulate a viable park-community pilot transit service for Morristown National Historical Park. This effort was conducted under the auspices of the National Park Service's Alternative Transportation Program. The nation's first National Historical Park is located in and around Morristown, New Jersey. Morristown is located in north-central New Jersey, thirty miles from New York City. Morristown National Historical Park consists of four units that played important roles during the Revolutionary War--Washington's Headquarters, Fort Nonsense, Jockey Hollow Encampment Area, and New Jersey Brigade Encampment. |
