| 摘要： | A Complete Street is generally taken to be one that provides safe travel for all modes, ages, and abilities. The City of Burnaby, British Columbia, wanted to go beyond safety, creating a street that was also beautiful and inviting, and designed not only from a transportation perspective, but also to support broader strategic goals as identified in the city's environmental, social, and economic strategic plans. In short, to go back to basics and design the best street we possibly could. These new designs are being applied to entire neighborhoods, not just one or two high-profile streets. Travelers in these neighborhoods, regardless of mode, will be able to make their entire trip on facilities of the highest quality that will enhance the community for generations to come. |
