| 摘要： | Q: How is geosynthetic sustainability as compared with conventional construction materials like soil, concrete and steel? A: The four pillars of sustainability are human, social, economic and environmental. Geosynthetics are winners when compared to conventional alternatives in all four areas. To substantiate this assertion I would strongly recommend that you have a look at the International Geosynthetics Society's (IGS) website. Their website has a section entirely on sustainability. It is outlined below: 1. Sustainability statement 2. Case studies 3. Paper citations 4. PowerPoint presentations 5. Videos 6. eBooks The section on sustainability culminates with the IGS'response to the European Commission's consultation on Microplastics pollution. It is very well done and includes a carbon calculator that can be used to compare geosynthetic to conventional alternatives. |
