摘要: The Oregon Department of Transportation tested a system to collect a vehicle-based mileage fee as a replacement for the Oregon gas tax. This project reports on additional analysis of the data from that experiment. Subjects include analysis of the consistency of attitudes as expressed in participant surveys at the beginning, midpoint, and end of the experiment; differences in changes in rush hour mileage by day and by a.m. versus p.m. rush hours; analysis of whether the shift from a fuel tax to a mileage charge caused notable differences in response based on the fuel efficiency of the vehicle; analysis of the effect of level of transit service and distance to transit access on the responses to mileage pricing; and more refined analysis of the effect of household income on the response to pricing.
