| 摘要： | Those who know me would not believe that I was speechless when I received the call from ITE informing me I was selected to receive the 2023 Theodore M. Matson Memorial Award. I have seen this award given out at the Annual Meeting for decades, and it was always to prominent individuals in the industry, many of them authors of key publications I've read and studied. To now be one of the recipients of this award is a true privilege. Thank you to my peers, nominators, and the selection committee for bestowing me with this honor. I've been a part of ITE since 1986 when my engineering career path had an unexpected change in direction. I started with a general practice in land development and then found myself preparing reports for a new traffic impact study requirement for the Las Vegas gaming industry. To demonstrate the importance of lifelong learning and problem-solving, I'll guide you through the twists and turns of my career that eventually led me to the honor of receiving the Theodore M. Matson Memorial Award. Everyone every day is writing their own story. If you take one thing away from this article, I hope it is the need to learn something new every day. |
