摘要：	Students and younger professionals are the lifeblood of ITE and the future of our profession. ITE Student Chapters provide an opportunity for students to connect with their peers and with practicing professionals while still in school and provide a gateway to full ITE membership upon graduation. Recognizing the importance of engaging students and young professionals early in their careers, and understanding the positive impact these groups can have on the transportation profession, ITE established a Student to Younger Member (S2YM) Task Force to identify opportunities to enhance support for students and younger members and facilitate this transition. Based on the recommendations from this Task Force, the ITE Board of Direction has made the S2YM initiative a primary element of ITE's 2022 Strategic Plan Action Agenda and approved a 2022 S2YM Implementation Plan. The primary goals of this plan are to: 1. Ensure the foundation for student engagement and student-to-young member transition are in place across ITE, including updated charters, engaged faculty advisors and Section liaisons for all Student Chapters, and 2. Enhance communications and engagement with graduating student members to improve their transition (and retention) as they move to young professionals.
