摘要: |
The transport sector is known to be the third highest emitter of greenhouse gases globally and presents a challenge in achieving emissions [1] with furthcr research placing it second on the hierarchy of problematic sectors to control [2]. The message is clear: emissions reduction in the transport sector is difficult to realize. To compound issucs further, highly congested cities suffer the public health effects of air pollution. In 2019 alone 4.5 million deaths were recorded as result of ambient air pollution [3]. The Situation is more pronounced in transitioning economies such as Colombia, Tanzania, and India where policy makers must balance the need to increase public infrastructure, and reduce road congestion while achieving emissions reduction targets. |
