Australian tank trailer manufacturer Omni Tanker recently built and delivered what the company says is the world's first triple road train tanker, which features advanced composite materials and a 15% capacity improvement. Omni has delivered three of the triple trainers to Townsville Logistics, according to reports. The tankers feature the manufacturer's "mold-in baffles," which are designed to improve safety by managing the movement of fluid in the trailer to reduce "surge." With a payload capacity of nearly 100 tonnes (110.2 U.S. tons) enabled by lightweight composite materials, the triple tankers help reduce operational costs. Townsville, along with Sun Metals Corporation-a subsidiary of South Korea's Korea Zinc-is using the trailers to transport heavy acids across Northern Australia. "Omni Tanker is combining advanced manufacturing technology with aerospace materials and heavy-duty trailers to deliver game-changing liquid payloads for the critical minerals processing industry-right here in Australia," said Daniel Rodgers, CEO and founder of Omni. |
