Their mission, besides showcasing the new office, was to advance current initiatives, like the professional tank truck driver registered apprenticeship program, and pinpoint what members want in the next three to five years. We engaged in long-range planning in early August, examining what we did well from sales, marketing, and editorial standpoints, and what we can do better to continue serving our readers and advertisers. And as those discussions dragged on and on-have I mentioned I'm not a big fan of meetings?-my mind wandered: What do readers want? More fleet profiles, or technical articles, or regulatory analysis? What topics matter? Can anything supplant workforce development as priority No. 1? |
