| 摘要： | By now, we all should know that the increasing use of lightweight materials in vehicles is not a fad. Perhaps some who were caught by surprise when Ford revealed the 2015 F-150 would have an all-aluminum body thought that these materials might go away, but clearly they have not. As such, we all should also know why lightweight materials are here to stay: to help automakers hit the corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) mandate of 54.5 highway miles per gallon by 2025 and to improve safety through less intrusion into occupant zones. Here are just a few specific examples of increasing use of lightweight materials: In revealing the new Honda Civic earlier this year, Honda stated that the vehicle had more extensive use of aluminum and various grades of high-strength steel. |
