| 摘要： | The fiber optic link loss budget is one of the most important specifications for a fiber optic cable plant. The loss budget involves calculation of the fiber optic cable plant's estimated optical loss, done during the design phase of a project.lt has two very important purposes. First, it allows the network designer to estimate the loss of the cable plant and compare it to the requirements of the intended communications systems that will use the cable plant to confirm it will work. Secondly, it can be used as a pass/fail limit when testing the cable plant after installation.The loss budget is sometimes confused with the communication system "power budget" which is a specification of the maximum loss in the cable plant which allows reliable operation of the network. The communications system power budget will set a limit for the loss of the cable plant over which it is operated. If the cable plant's loss is greater than the communication system's power budget, the link will not work, and more design work is needed. |
