In a year when most of us were craving normalcy, nearly 700 technicians, engineers, transportation and public safety professionals got a taste of it last month at the IMSA Forum & Expo in Orlando. Just across the parking lot from SeaWorld Orlando, the meeting marked a return to the look and feel of a more traditional IMSA conference, where attendees meet old friends, make new ones and sit for the certification exams that are the cornerstone of the IMSA experience. A year after the COVID-scaled-back meeting in Ohio and two years removed from 2020's COVID-canceled expo, this year's gathering exceeded all expectations and reminded participants of the benefits of face-to-face meetings. "As the first really big show coming off of COVID, this has been great," said Mindy Gillespie, Head of Marketing for Yunex Traffic, a major vendor and sponsor at the event. "Traffic has been really good. I've heard some really great conversations going on in the certification classes, and it's been wonderful to see everyone's new tech coming out." |
