| 摘要： | Risk and reward are associated with taking a gamble. This past month the IMSA International Board of Directors and the chair and chair-elect for the IMSA Council of Delegates met in Reno, Nevada, for the IMSA Mid-Winter Board meeting. We gathered at the Peppermill Resort, where we'll meet for the IMSA Forum and Expo this June. Guess what they do in Reno at our host hotel, the Peppermill? They gamble! We did a lot of research to find the most cost-effective location in the country to hold the Mid-Winter Board Meeting. We usually hold it at the site of our upcoming annual Forum and Expo to negotiate a better rate. However, we'd already used that chit. We'd held our 2020 mid-winter meeting in Reno before we canceled the Forum and Expo due to COVID-19. So this time, we had to pay the full rate for rooms, space, and food and beverage. Despite searching in Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas and Orlando, the rates for travel and all expenses to Reno were still cheaper. Do you want to guess why? They host gambling. |
