| 摘要： | Transport accounts for 24% of greenhouse gas emissions in the UK and is our most polluting sector. Some 90% of this figure comes from road transport, with just over half coming from cars and HGVs coming in at about a fifth. Cars account for 76% of road miles and HGVs account for 6%, with the latter therefore being proportionally higher emitters. From a carbon reduction point of view, it would make sense to have a huge push to get as much freight as we can off the roads, followed by a reduction of privately-driven road miles. |
