| 摘要： | Glowing reviews by councillors, firm community support, increased cycling figures and significant value for money delivered - it may have been a relatively short trial but the use of new equipment and de-icing liquids on cycleways around Exeter this spring was an almost unqualified success. With a provisional budget of £30,000 set aside for the trial but total costs coming in at just £4,747, Devon CC was safe to celebrate the 'significant value' of an experiment that both delivered and came in well under budget, albeit partly due to mild weather. A council report by network operations auditor Paul Wilkins states that the likely costs for the upcoming winter period are estimated as: 'Total cost per treatment approx. £689. Assuming 39 treatments in the winter period (based on average outings of gritting route AVO3B over last five seasons), it is felt that the further trial for the full 2022/23 winter period can be delivered for £50,000. |
