Greetings, I hope this message finds you enjoying the final days of summer. It has been an exciting and busy two months for the staff and me. As we start focusing on the fall season ahead of us, I want to share some of the exciting things we've been working on since we left the Forum and Expo in Reno. Bylaws revision: The bylaws revision that was voted on by the Council of Delegates and Board of Directors has been finalized and sent out to IMSA leadership. As a result of the revision, we have realigned some membership categories. This was done to clarify the categories and allow more folks to serve in leadership roles within the organization. Staff has done a great job updating the membership database and getting notices out to members affected by these changes. Certifications: In Reno, we had a lot of great discussions and received feedback from leadership on the new certification exams and prep materials. The staff and Educational Advisory Committee (EAC) have taken those ideas and are working on implementing them as quickly as possible. But that hasn't stopped the sections from doing business! Since we returned from Reno, we have processed several hundred exams and certification renewals, and it continues to get busier. The EAC has several work groups tirelessly working on updates to both the exams and the prep course material. We are always looking for folks who want to get involved with helping create or review new material. If you would like assistance, please contact me or the EAC chair and 2023 -24 President-Elect Guy Petinga. |
