Balfour Beatty will replace Ringway Jacobs as Buckinghamshire County Council's new highways maintenance contractor in April after landing an eight-year deal valued at £176m. Kier and Milestone Infrastructure were also understood to have submitted bids for the contract, which comprises the delivery of the council's ongoing programme of maintenance, investment and improvement for its 5,000km of roads, carriageways, footpaths and cycle routes. Steven Broadbent, the council's cabinet member for transport, said: 'We are pleased to announce that, after a rigorous selection process, Balfour Beatty Living Places has been awarded this maintenance contract. |
