| 摘要： | I was out walking the dog early this morning and found myself admiring the swathe of colour created by the municipally-planted bedding that skirts the strip of grass that passes for a green' round these parts. Various spots around the town benefit from flower beds, and, more recently, from wildflower beds. It put me in mind of the numerous 'garden rescue' shows that have cropped up to fill the space between the funeral plan and mobility scooter adverts that have come to dominate daytime TV. More than averagely irrelevant, even by my own standards? No, because the thing about those garden makeovers is that while the results revealed to a usually tearful home-dweller as the show ends are a visual delight, they aren't going to stay that way without work. Quite a bit of work. Watering, weeding, pruning, feeding, mowing - the list goes on. |
