| 摘要： | National Highways is once again reaching out to colleagues across the highways sector with a range of speakers lined up for this year's Traffex/Parkex event. Key representatives from across the business will be offering insight into our leading role in the industry through operating, maintaining and improving the strategic road network - more than 4,500 miles of motorways and major A roads. Covering a host of different topics, the speakers will set out not only the work we are doing now but also our vision for the roads of the future. Giving the keynote speech and leading the National Highways line-up at Birmingham NEC will be chief executive Nick Harris. As Traffex/Parkex 2023 gets underway on Tuesday 6 June, Nick will update the conference on the progress National Highways is making in delivering the Road Investment Strategy 2 (RIS 2), the Government's strategic roads plan for 2020-2025. Published in late 2019, this was an ambitious programme of work even before subsequent challenges such as COVID and the rise in inflation. He will also report on how National Highways is helping to decarbonise the road sector and will look ahead to RIS 3 (2025-2030) and beyond, highlighting the themes of the recent 2050 vision, Connecting the Country. |
