摘要：	Following the UK's exit from the European Union, Rishi Sunak's government inherited Liz Truss' Retained EU Law Bill, which had promised a 'bonfire of regulations' with thousands of EU-era laws to expire at the end of 2023. However, on 10 May Kemi Badenoch MP, secretary of state at the Department for Business and Trade, announced that the 31 December sunset clause will be revoked, and the Government will instead list those retained EU Laws it intends to revoke. While former business secretary Jacob Rees-Mogg may suggest that Mr Sunak has broken his word, the Government has announced several employment law measures as part of a collection of regulatory reforms intended to grow the economy and cut costs for business. The policy paper sets out the Government's plan to overhaul the UK's regulatory framework and ensure that the work of regulators will 'improve regulation across the board to reduce burdens, push down the cost of living and drive economic growth'. More specifically, the paper contains several employment-related reform proposals that will limit non-compete clauses, remove reporting requirements from the Working Time Regulations (WTR 1998), and introduce a new exception from the application of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) to smaller businesses.
