摘要: Skanska raced away with top spot in the quarterly leagues after being awarded a £345m deal by National Highways to build a bypass connecting the M_1 at Leicester to the A_1 in central Lincolnshire. The overall project is expected to cost upwards of £400m, but Skanska's deal was put at £345m when the job was awarded in August. The next biggest single project to be awarded was secured by Octavius Infrastructure, a new firm created after Osborne's civil engineering arm was acquired by investors Sullivan Street Partners in September 2021. The newly independent business, rebranded as Octavius earlier this year, secured its biggest success to date after landing the advanced works deal on the £99.6m Chelmsford North East bypass project for Essex County Council. Elsewhere, John Sisk was confirmed as contractor on a £69m scheme to realign a stretch of the A59 Kex Gill between Skipton and Harrogate. The scheme, which includes 4.5km of new single carriageway with climbing lanes in an environmentally sensitive area between Blubberhouses and Kex Gill Farm, will start early next year.
