Our people are our greatest asset, and it is vital we support and invest in them. Featuring in the NCFD list is an achievement alone, but to be considered the second most inclusive company in the country shows true recognition of our hard work to ensure our people remain at the forefront of our business. Kier Highways designs, builds and manages roads on behalf of central and local government and it first appeared in this index in 2019 at number 93. In 2020, we were ranked 66 and then in 2021 we moved to 52. This brings us to the present day, having climbed 50 places higher due to recent initiatives that launched and embedded all aspects of Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement (FREDIE) into our culture. Our business had an embedded equality, diversity and inclusion strategy, but it was our new FREDIE strategy, launched in 2020, that defined our path to becoming a more inclusive employer. We set ourselves ambitious targets and in the last 12 months have made incredible progress. |
