All spreaders, regardless of manufacturer, require accurate calibration to achieve maximum efficiency and need setting up depending on the de-icing material being used and its specific characteristics. Effective calibration and monitoring provide confidence that spreaders are performing correctly and allow the more commonly adopted lower spread rates and quantities of de-icing material to be adopted. At Aebi Schmidt, our view is that dynamic, instead of theoretical, calibration of salt spreading equipment is of vital importance. For our engineers to produce a calibration certificate, they have to successfully follow a 25-point calibration report detailing all the steps and checks of the machine to ensure it is in good health and suitable for calibration. |
