摘要: With a new Manual for Streets [MfS] due this year, readers might get something of an appetiser in Highways and Footways Accessibility Guidelines. The report from the Cross River Partnership [CRP] - a public private sub-regional partnership operating in London - was developed as part of the Central London Sub-Regional Transport Partnership, a collective of senior transport officers and directors from 10 London boroughs who work with Transport for London. However, it is relevant to authorities across the country, particularly urban authorities where lower speed roads will see a variety of users with a variety of needs.Just as with MfS, the ethos of this document is about highways' relationship with wider society, ensuring roads play their part in making better places to live. The CRP guidelines go even further, skewing heavily towards the social and tackling central and emerging themes in society, not just highways, that have become vital for local officers to consider. These key issues are:1Modal Conflict 2 24-Hour Strategy 3 Female Safety 4 Child Friendly Spaces 5 Designing for Neurodiversity 6 Alternative Crossings 7 Shared Use 8 Inclusive Cycle Infrastructure 9 Pavement Clutter 10 Kerbside Activity.
