Keltbray has bagged a package to dispose of excavated material from the £1.2bn Silvertown Tunnel project in East London. Work on the 1.4-km tunnel is expected to produce 1.2 million tonnes of demolition and excavation waste and Keltbray will remove materials excavated on barges taking 1,800 tonnes of waste to reduce carbon emissions. No value for Keltbray's package has been disclosed.Contractors looking to prequalify for a £40m surfacing framework for the South Wales Trunk Road Agent have been given an extra fortnight to register interest. The deadline has been extended by 14 days to 18 February on the four-year agreement, which is due to start early next year. The agreement will also cover ancillary works, including planned and unplanned, programmed and emergency pavement resurfacing jobs and will be split into two regional lots covering the Eastern and Western regions.AE Yates, Bethell and Casey are in the running for a £9.5m project to carry out improvements to a roundabout on the A650 at Newton Bar in West Yorkshire for Wakefield Council. Despite local opposition, in January Wakefield Council insisted that the project will go ahead and tenders have now been returned. Fore Consultants is advising on transport issues and Arcadis is working as construction manager on the scheme, which is mainly being funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority. |
