| 摘要： | It was with great sadness that the IHE received news of the death of Peter Etheridge CEng MIHT Hon FIHE on 9 July 2023, aged 93 years. Peter was a chartered engineer who had devoted his life to highway engineering in both the public and private sectors. He was for many years the secretary of the Southern Branch of IHT (now the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation] and was a staunch promoter of CPD. With the demise of the branches within IHT (a move he very much regretted] he turned his attention and professional assistance to the Southern Branch of the IHE and became a supporter and a great helper with the production of its annual seminars, using his extensive knowledge and obtaining the backing of Ringway Ltd for whom he worked until his retirement. Even retirement did not slow down his enthusiastic support and he was regularly seen at Southern Branch events, which he always said 'kept him young'. |
